At Elite Built we regard environmental responsibility as an essential part of our business philosophy. We are committed to the ongoing protection of our surrounds and we are always looking for ways to use resources even more efficiently. We work toward reducing our environmental impact, reducing pollution levels while ensuring the health and safety of our employees and the wellbeing of our customers and suppliers.
GECA
As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we’re continually seeking the support of relevant industry bodies to further enhance our green commitment. A variety of Elite Built products now carry the Good Environmental Choice Australia label. The label, property of Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) is a symbol of good environmental performance, and is recognised by the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA).
As part of our sustained environmental commitment Elite Built:
> Establishes programs to achieve agreed environmental targets and objectives.
> Complies with ISO 14001 – the International Standard for Environmental Management.
> Complies with other applicable accreditation standards including legal and regulatory requirements.
> Actively sources and markets eco-friendly products, promoting reuse and recycling via the use of products able to be recycled.
> Communicates regularly with employees, customers and suppliers to heighten awareness of environmental issues and encourage active participation.
> Promotes this commitment by making copies of this policy available to employees, customers and suppliers.
In addition all Australian manufactured products and sites meet the following standards:
> Comply with ISO 14001 – the International Standard for Environmental Management.
> Plans for and conducts site operations in a manner that safeguards health, while minimising environmental impacts and optimising resource utilisation.
> Establishes remedial contingency plans to effectively manage and control accidental spills and discharges.
> Continually works to reduce or eliminate all harmful releases to the environment to the extent that proven technology will allow.
> Participates in appropriate industry wide initiatives for the protection of the environment led by government or by industry representative bodies.
